INGREDIENTS
Apples- 5 tart apples
- ¼ cup sugar
- ½ tsp. cinnamon
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- ½ cup quinoa flakes
- ½ cup walnuts or almonds, well chopped
- ½ cup finely crushed Mary’s Gone Crackers Original Crackers
- ½ cup maple sugar or light brown sugar
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- ½ cup* melted butter (or coconut oil). *You’ll need enough to ensure all topping ingredients are well coated.
PREPARATION
Preheat oven to 350º.
Peel, core and slice apples.
Mix apples, sugar, cinnamon + lemon juice well and pour into a baking dish.
Combine all topping ingredients and mix well.
Sprinkle topping on the apples and pat down.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes or until apples are tender and bubbly. If topping begins to brown too much, reduce heat to 325º, cover pan with foil.
