Introduced in 1829 by Sylvester Graham, the original graham cracker was created out of graham flour, including wheat bran and wheat germ to provide healthy nutrition, fiber and flavor. Over time, graham crackers have been transformed into a highly refined product made of white sugar and white flour, stripped of all fiber and nutrients.
